Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) review
Metal Gear Solid 3 for the playstation 2. Its a great game and a great sequel to metal gear solid 2 but thats what fans of the series say, here's my opinion on the game.Story: 9/10
The story starts off with Naked Snake a.k.a Big Boss and you're in the 1960s where the only thing on everyone's mind right now is the cold war. The story might seem weird at first because the past 2 games were set like in 2011 but dun fret, this story is where everything began, its a prequel to all the MGS games ever made. I won't spoil the story anymore but it gets a really high score for it.
Graphics: 10/10
The Graphics is like none other, the graphics are really good in this game, the PS2 is definitely working a sweat running this game down to the water reflection to the great outdoors. It is almost perfect, play the game and you'll know what I'm talking about. Plus the PS2 in the past still has the difficulty of recreating a jungle environment due to its lack of hardware but Hideo Kojima and his team did it with this game. In the urban environment to the mountain tops to the great jungles, it is absolutely perfect.
Sound: 10/10
The sound is as great as the graphics, theres so much detail in everything, plus with the jungle environment you will hear the wildlife, birds or in a battle situation the guns like the AK47.
The music is good too with the opening title giving you the feeling of being in a 007 movie this game gets a even higher score for its songs like snake eater.
Gameplay: 8/10
The gameplay is almost the same as the past 2 games but with huge differences, such as that you can't carry all weapons at once you will have 8 weapon slots and item slots and all your gizmos will be in your backpack. So you will have to choose which stuff to carry around with cos it will affect you not only as using the right weapon but also as weight. Survival is key in this game and you have a stamina gauge below your health gauge which as the name implies shows your stamina. As your stamina depletes your performance in the field will deprove too like handshake or recovering from wounds so hunting for food is necessary and of course you're in a jungle environment go crazy killing birds with grenades and eating them. Lastly its the camouflage system, unlike previous MGS games you will need camouflage to blend into the surrounding, a scale on the top right tells how well you're concealed so you will be using this feature most of the time, the only thing that turns me off from the game is the fact you have to pause and change camo and continue the game, its quite irritating. Lastly snake will get injuries and its your job to treat them in its special menu, you will have to play doctor and give him meds for food poisoning or treat his gunshot wounds and if you don't your health bar will never be full.
Replay Value: 7/10
Replay value is ok, you could get the stealth camo which makes you totally invisible or get special weapons and stuff but you could get them pretty fast.

Do not play this game if you are a action freak and you dun know about MGS being a stealth game
as the phrase goes "You're a ghost snake, in every sense of it."
But as people who play the past MGS games will notice that in snake eater version you will get to some what control the camera like move it a little over the sides but in the subsistence version you will get a full 360 camera which is cool not like in the past where the camera can sometimes be a hindrance.
EXTRA Comments
Instead of making small problem we can tolerate theres one huge bad point, they shutdown all online servers for this game, yes you guessed it this game has online matches and stuff like that but they shut it down and i have like 2 discs version to play the onlne mode only to find out that it was no longer there, Damn bastards.....
FINAL comments (seriously)
MGS 3 is the truly what they call a stealth action game with some situations where you will have to fight instead of sneaking it won't be boring. and with the huge amounts of easter eggs to make you laugh this game is a definite yes to buy.

Gun replicas or just toys?
I've spent like 2 godforsaken hours to spray the desert eagle mk 2 from the original look (left) to the new look (right) and boy was it worth it, the gun look so much cooler when its painted like that. Personally I dun call it the desert eagle anymore, I call it the "Gold Trigger".
P.S. My next game review will be Metal Gear Solid 3 for the PS2.

Resident evil 4 (PS2) review
Over the years, the resident evil series have made their mark in the gaming society with weird awkward camera angles, crazy controls, limited ammo, and of course zombies. Frankly Its a survival horror game, but Resident evil 4 takes that genre to a whole new level. It has now become a shooter horror survival, or I could be wrong.Story: 8/10
You play as Leon S. Kennedy, yes the very same Leon from RE2 and he's working for the government to locate the president's missing daughter and she was last seen in the middle of a European country as least it looks like one but the developers claim that it was not, and as the story progresses, It was more than an ordinary village with local villagers. And so we start with the review. Not a original story but good enough to listen.
Graphics: 7/10
On Graphical terms, the game is considered one of the best for the PS2, the fact that the Gamecube have batter graphics was because it needs 2 discs to play and of course have better hardware and stuff but the PlayStation 2 needs only 1 disc and have all the same game elements from the GC but with a few extras but a deproved graphics. Not is all lost, the Game still looks good with some small details and anything else but all in all the GC version is better.
Sound: 9/10
The game sounds very good, with the music and the sound of each fire shot and the sound of the sabot bouncing of the wall its all perfect. Quality is good here too, but unlike the old Resident evil games, if its quiet you are safe but if there's music then be on your toes. What surprises me the most was the fact that theres the sound of the gun's magazine hitting the water when you reload in a lake. All in all it gets a nine.
Controls: 7/10
The game uses a different perspective now, instead of the old fixed camera angle, you now have a third person perspective and aiming with the gun is over the shoulder camera which is cool.
The controls of the game are OK with a few problems such as like you have to hold a separate button to make Leon run with the analog stick and while running you can't do a hard left or right.
But aiming with the R1 and shooting with the X and reloading with the circle is ok, I can't see though why Leon has to stay put while aiming, can't he strafe to left or right. Lastly was that the PS2 have 2 extra buttons R2 and L2, why can't the developers use the buttons to switch between weapons instead of pausing and switching a weapon. The developers did put in the quick turn feature which makes Leon turn 180 degrees with a blink of an eye and it helps alot. 7/10, 3 points are from not being able to do a hard turn, can't strafe from aiming and not using L2 and R2.
Replay Value: 9/10
Replay value in this game is awesome, while the main story might last you minimum a day theres still alot the things to like playing the game on a higher difficulty or replaying the game with all your weapons and gear or playing a seperate ways mission that stars Ada instead of Leon (exclusive to the PS2) or play assignment Ada or try unlocking the secret weapons, playing the mercerneries mini game is very fun too, and you might find yourself lots of things to do besides playing the main game once and leave it to collect dust. 1 point missing was due to the fact that if you are really good with this game you can get everything done really quickly and once you've done everything possible, it can be used to collect dust.

RE4 is a real gem in the PS2's game library and it s a real gem cos' of the unique gameplay and the fact that it was ported to the PS2 was because it was very popular, if you only play games on a single console then buy this game, if you played the past resident evil games and not sure to buy this one cos' it changed, buy this game! and if you like killing zombies in ridiculous ways and getting zombie headshots then...BUY THIS GAME!!! Games like this are very rare for its originality.
